August 8, 2011Got to go out and play with the Tampa Strobist group again. This time, we tried something new and only used “bounced” light – no flashes allowed. It was fun to work with a few new models and some amazing photographers. Good times!
Model Shoot with The Tampa Strobists
July 18, 2011I’m a member of a couple of different photography clubs here in central Florida. Today, a few of us went over to Tampa for a model shoot. By sheer luck of the draw, our small group ended up with a beautiful model named Trish. She had such a cool look. One of the other photographers suggested we go to this really old cemetery and photograph her there. I really enjoyed the shoot and meeting Trish, Michelle and Sean.

Models at the Dunes
May 22, 2011Our local photography club, The Lakeland Shooters, gets together frequently to learn from each other and exchange ideas. Recently, we met at the Dunes on the southside with a few models to experiment with lighting. Here’s a few shots from the day.
Playing in the Studio
March 1, 2011So, my friend Kevin called and said, “Hey girl, let’s go check out this studio shoot over in Ybor City.” We met two of the sweetest models I think I’ve ever had the privilege of photographing. Danielle is a pin-up style model and has the look nailed! Jessica was in the room with the “hot lights” and had a more contemporary look. We met some very nice photographers and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Thanks, ladies for a fun shoot!

January 4, 2011Hey Ladies! Are you looking for that “little something different” to give your other half for Valentine’s Day or your anniversary this year? Or how about “just because”? Tasteful and classy boudoir photography can be a gift you both will treasure in years to come. Believe me, as we age we always look back and say, “I can’t believe how good I looked back then.” Well, today will be back then in just a few years!!
These sessions tend to take longer than a typical session due to outfit changes. Processing time is increased since most of the shots have some airbrushing tweaks. (That is only fair, considering all of the models in magazines are retouched - why shouldn’t you have the same benefit!) I was showing a client her proofs recently and she asked, “Is that me? Really? Wow – you must’ve done a lot of photoshopping to that shot!!” When I explained that I actually only did some minimal retouching and showed her the original photo as proof, she was amazed. She didn’t realize how sexy she really looks because she never sees herself from that angle. Pity that we concentrate on what we perceive as our flaws and ignore our best features. Good boudoir photography plays up and accentuates your positives.

Aviation Fantasy
November 13, 2010Amanda and Mike agreed to pose for our local photography group at a local aviation attraction. She found a couple of 1940s costumes and even rented a Cigarette Girl outfit for the shoot. We had a blast! Thanks Amanda and Mike for a fun day!

Junkyard Shoot
September 25, 2010Today a local photography club that I belong to went out to a junk yard to play and take some photos. Amanda had graciously agreed to be one of our models, providing a wonderful contrast of beauty to all the ugliness that was there.
